Refund and Failed Transaction Policy

This policy explains when tf2cart releases reservations, restores website balance, or requires manual review after a failed or cancelled transaction.

Last updated: July 15, 2026

tf2cart is independent and is not affiliated with Valve or Steam. Steam sign-in uses official Steam OpenID on steamcommunity.com; tf2cart never asks for your Steam password.

1. Unpaid buy invoices

Cancelling or allowing an unpaid invoice to expire releases its reserved TF2 key stock. No website balance refund is created because no confirmed payment was settled.

2. Paid buy orders that cannot deliver

When a supported payment is confirmed but the Steam key delivery cannot complete, the paid order value is returned to website balance and the reserved stock is released. The system does not intentionally issue both keys and refunded balance for the same completed order.

3. Steam acceptance windows

Buy and sell offers have a limited acceptance window. An unaccepted sell offer does not credit balance. An uncertain or still-active Steam offer may remain under review until its final Steam state is known, preventing duplicate keys or balance.

4. Failed withdrawals

Withdrawal funds are locked while submission and confirmation are pending. If a withdrawal definitively fails before funds leave the wallet, the locked amount is released or restored through a refund ledger entry. A completed on-chain transfer cannot be reversed.

5. Failed swaps

If a supported website-balance swap fails before completion, the debited source balance is restored through the swap refund flow. Completed blockchain or exchange execution cannot be reversed merely because the market rate later changes.

6. Wrong token, network, amount, or address

Automatic recovery is not guaranteed when you send an unsupported asset, use the wrong network, round the exact invoice amount, pay after expiry, or provide an incorrect withdrawal address. Contact support with the transaction hash; any possible recovery is reviewed individually and may depend on technical feasibility and external costs.

7. Completed trades

A completed Steam Trade Offer or confirmed blockchain payout is final unless tf2cart identifies an internal accounting error. Market-price changes after confirmation are not grounds for a refund.

8. Support evidence

For review, provide your Steam ID, order or invoice ID, token and network, exact amount, transaction hash, and Steam offer ID when available. Never provide a wallet private key, seed phrase, Steam password, or Steam Guard code.
